greet + repeat
Greet + Repeat was a reusable greeting card company I founded in November of 2019.
The company was built on the idea that sentimental messages can also be sustainable. That everything we buy can have a life before and after we interact with it.
Greeting cards, while often bought thoughtfully, usually spend a few days displayed and then end up in the trash, or in a desk drawer collecting dust. For a tradition that’s stayed the same for years, it felt wasteful and old-school considering how far we’ve come in regards to the innovations for a more sustainable future. I knew it was time to shake things up to better align with the values we’ve come to live by; thus Greet and Repeat was born!
The designs were inspired by two loves of mine: Nature and Vintage. Growing up in Central Oregon, finding magic in the natural world came easy to me. The colors, organic patterns, and forests teeming with life never cease to amaze me. Each card is crafted using pressed foliage and vintage lithographs from the 1800s.
process
press
In order to create my cards, I needed to first build up a collection of pressed plants to incorporate in each design. Each card features pressed flowers and leaves that have been collected over the last couple years. Once each plant is dehydrated and flattened (2-3 weeks) I then scan in each element and digitally archive it so it can be used time and time again.
prototype
My mission was to create a card that can be enjoyed by not just one person, but up to three different people. After mocking up a few different prototypes, I landed on a design that I felt was user friendly, and clearly communicated the function which was to be reused and passed on.
market
Once my card design was complete, the next step was to find a way to clearly communicate this new concept to consumers. Both the name of the business as well as the branding played a key role in making sure Greet + Repeat was understood and saleable.
how to reuse
customer + brand
customer
The Greet + repeat customer is eco-conscious and makes thoughtful purchases that align with their values. They have an appreciation for the natural world and have a fondness for vintage. They typically are more established in their career which allows them to purchase special items at a slightly higher price point.

Greet + Repeat’s Instagram focused on brand inspiration, curated product photos and process. Each post celebrates the natural beauty found in the wild and touches on what it means to live a sustainable lifestyle.
